Details:
RAAF Beaufort, A9-228 departed Mount Gambier on 4 June 1945 for East Sale on a long range sea reconnaissance and night astro-navigation exercise. Instead it headed north east, over Albury and then flew in the direction of the Victorian Alps, ultimately crashing into Mt. Tawonga. TLCCV members will attempt to locate the wreckage site & view the associated memorial plaques whilst traversing numerous 4WD tracks.
