A trip for the Ladies and Gents.
We run a 200 series, I like to match vehicles on these type of trips if possible.
i.e. 2x200's, 2 x 70's etc.
This is not a trip for the faint hearted, tracks may be difficult to find or indeed simply non existent.
Your vehicle must be in 10/10 mechanical condition.
Tyres (5) must be at 7mm or please dont apply. No exceptions or excuses.
Starting Point is Maree South Australia.
Trip concluding in Birdsville Qld.
Travel to and from the trip at your own leisure, you may want to extend the trip by slowing it all down to a holiday pace cruising before and after.
Meet under the Oodnadatta track sign in Maree at 8 AM sharp for general scrutineering and briefing.
This is where you will be asked to leave if you do not have a top vehicle. I am serious.
Departing by 9 AM
> Traveling the Oodnadatta track on this occasion is simply transit driving from Marree up the track to Oodnadatta.
> Fuel, for the trip @ Oodnadatta.
> Dalhousie, Camp > French Line > Colson Track > East to the Geo Centre > travel back south easterly down to the French Line > Poeppel corner > QAA line to Birdsville. Allow 7 Days from Dalhousie across allowing for, and pending "Murphy's law".
As usual for us a must attend meeting (Pub Grub) will be held prior to departure for all to meet n greet plus chew the fat so to speak, date TBA.
You must know how to use all of your gear,
Your gear must be in good working condition.
You must understand your vehicles fuel burn in tough sandy conditions.
You must be an experienced driver in sand conditions.
Sorry but no exceptions on this trip.
No towing is a given, no pets, no firearms, no kids.
A current S.A desert parks pass is required, I will organise CLC passes.
