Recovery gear. All Terrain or Mud Terrain tyres. Air Compressor. Chainsaw if you have one. Radiator blind for water crossings. Food. Water. Tent/Swag/RTT

Overnight:

Caravan Parks: Erica (Sunday) & Licola (Monday). Bush camping: Eaglevale (Tuesday), Dargo (Wednesday) & Mayford (Thursday).

Trip Details:

Tour de Fiftieth – Quality driving over Quantity of driving. Trip has difficult driving sections balanced with plenty of time for camping / fishing / socialising.  Trip ends Friday at Mt Beauty for TLCCV 50th Anniversary.  

Participants will have the option of joining Sunday evening dinner at the Erica Hotel or commencing the journey for a 9am departure Monday morning from the Erica Caravan Park.

Due to the length and location of the trip no prior reconnaissance journey will be undertaken.  The Tour de Fiftieth is subject to change due to prevailing conditions.

Monday - Depart Erica Caravan Park 9am sharp.  Heading north via Rawson we will travel along Mormon Town Track and the Deep Creek Tracks making our way to Burgoyne Track.  Departing Burgoyne Track at Heyfield Jamieson Road it is a short drive to Licola Caravan Park which is situated on the Macalister River.


Tuesday- Departing the caravan park around 9am we will travel along Moroka Road past Arbuckle Junction and on to the viewing platform at The Pinnacles.  From here we will descend the iconic Billy Goat Bluff Track and set up camp on the Wonnangatta River at Eaglevale.

Wednesday- Travelling to Wonnangatta Station for morning tea we will then do a u-turn and explore some areas around Dargo including Talbotville and the Crooked River.  Camping on the Dargo River just to the North of town we will visit the Dargo Hotel for a counter meal for dinner.

 
Thursday- Departing North via the Dargo High Plains Road we will travel through the historic township of Grant onto Basalt Knob Track through to Blue Rag Range for one of the most spectacular ridgeline drives in the state.  Departing Blue Rag we will cross the Dargo High Plans road, travel down King Spur Track and set up camp by the Dargo River in the historic township of Mayford.

Friday-Departing the dead end town of Mayford we back track up King Spur Track to the Dargo High Plains Road and head North to Mt Beauty via Smoko in time for the party.
